HAIKOU, April 19 (Xinhua) -- The Boao Forum for Asia (BFA) will start its annual conference for 2006 on Friday. This year's conference has received broader intelligence support from all over the world.
Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu (DTT), one of the world's top four auditing companies, has engaged in designing the topics for BFA Annual Conference 2006.
Since 2002, BFA has held four annual conferences. The fifth annual BFA conference will be held between April 21 and 23 in BFA's permanent conference site, the coastal town of Boao in Hainan Province.
In a role to push for win-win situation and drive the integration of Asia, the scale of the annual BFA conference is extending and so is the influence of the forum in other parts of the world.
According to BFA Secretary-General Long Yongtu, one reason for the victory is the forum has gathered international intelligence resource and established a multilevel intelligence supporting system.
Since its establishment, BFA has set up cooperative relationship with The China Institute for Reform and Development (CIRD) and received sufficient intelligence support from the institute.
While researching into the Asian economic system, the institute has also set up a network of experts from all over the world to study the hot issues of Asia.
In BFA Annual Conference 2005, the institute has published its first report on integration of Asian economy. In this year's conference, the institute will publish the report for 2006.
The report will mainly discuss the integration status in Asia, especially in East Asia and the step to drive the integration. It is the only one of such report in the world.
Long Yongtu said the report has formed a mature and fixed format, with efforts from the institute and assistance from the World Bank and the Asian Development Bank.
The report contains intensive analysis and conclusion of international investment and trade in Asia, Long said.
Boao Forum for Asia was officially established in February 2001, with the Declaration on the BFA signed by delegates from 26 founding members. The first annual BFA conference was held in April 2002. Enditem
